The local administration has clamped a curfew on Wednesday as well as the agitations since four days demanding undivided mid-west have turned violent. Chief District Officer Baldev Gautam said the order has been issued for 11 am till 6 pm. With the curfew order, political parties have postponed peace rallies slated to start from respective party offices at 3 pm. Locals in the district have been protesting demanding that the mid-western region be kept intact while demarcating the country into provinces. They also demanded that Surkhet district be developed as the capital of the new province. Curfew has been imposed time and again as protests, out from the control of political parties, have taken ugly turns.
