Life in Nawalparasi has been badly affected due to the indefinite general strike launched by the two separate groups Madeshi Morcha and locals at the same time. The locals have been protesting putting forward the demand of undivided Nawalparasi while the United Democratic Madhesi Alliance has been demanding a single Madhesi state in Terai. Transportation, educational institution, markets, and other services remain closed due to the general strike. Due to the continuous indefinite strike for the past 4 days commuters and local people have been facing difficulties. Protester has vandalized many vehicles and protest is turning more violent.
