The banda jointly called by the CPN-Maoist led by Mohan Baidya, Madhesh-centric parties and indigenous groups as a protest against the six federal provinces proposed in the draft constitution is ending at 1 pm today. A leader of one of the concerned parties told Setopati that the parties were forced to withdraw the banda since it was not as effective on the second day as the first. The administration arrested a large number of cadres, thus preventing them from coming out to the streets to impose banda, the leader told Setopati. The parties are set to take out demonstrations from different parts of Kathmandu and eventually converge into a mass assembly at Ratnapark in the capital after 1 pm. The parties' top leaders are scheduled to address the gathering.
