Tharu and Madhesi parties protest demanding Nepalgunj to be established state capital

Protesting the 6-state model of federalism proposed by the major parties cadres of Tharu and Madhesi parties have staged protest and demonstration in Nepalgunj. The protesters have been demanding the establishment of 'Abadh-Madhes-Tharuhat' state comprising of Terai districts from Kanchanpur to Chitwan. The alliance of the Tharu and Madhesi parties have also demanded Nepalgunj to be established as the capital of the state. Describing Nepalgunj to be major Industrial town of Mid-western and Far-western region with well-developed roads, airport, health and educational institutions and other infrastructures central committee member of Terai Madhes Democratic party Bijaya Gupta said that the demand was warranted. He also said that they had to come out in protest as the Prime Minister Sushil Koirala who was elected to CA from Nepalgunj failed to work in favour of the people there.
