Samakhusi area has remained tensed after the death of notorious gangster Kumar Shrestha alias ‘Ghainte’ on Friday. Nepali Congress cadres and youth supporters of Shrestha have gathered in the area causing obstruction to traffic and enforcing banda. Vehicles plying in the route and shops have remained closed due to the protest. Earlier in the morning, Ghainte’s supporters had organised a protest rally in Samakhusi against the police and Home Minister Bam Dev Gautam. Gangster Shrestha was gunned down by police at Kapurdhara in Samakhusi, Kathmandu, on Thursday. Police said he was killed as they fired back in self-defence.
