Mass assembly stopped after weapons recovered

The local administration has stopped the mass assembly being organized by Tharuhat on August 26 after the police recovered domestic weapons from some suspicious people heading for the site. CDO Loknath Poudyal said that domestic weapons including spear, catapult and baton were recovered on the East-West Highway. The assembly was being held in the location called Anp Bagiya which is also the prohibited area. SP Kuber Kadayat said that one catapult and three spears were found from people heading from Satbariya area. Police turned back the people arriving from Gadawa area at Rapti Bridge, Satbariya and Sishaniya. After the police action, they held the separate assembly in Gangaparaspur and Sishaniya VDCs, CA member Yogendra Chaudhary who came to attend the planned assembly informed. According to Chaudhary, the agitators named Gangaparaspur and ward office of Sonpur in Lamahi Municipality as Tharuhat Autonomous State Council. There were 250 police personnel mobilized in Deukhuri area.
