Tharu community in Chitwan have staged protest demonstration in Bharatpur on Saturday demanding Chitwan to be established as the state capital in federal Nepal. Large number of Tharu youths, women and elderly clad in traditional tharu attires gathered in Bharatpur to press for their rights in the constitution. The protest demonstration that began at Chaubis kothi in Bharatpur converged into a corner meet at Pulchowk. Speaking at the corner meet Tharu leaders warned that they would intensify their protest if their demands were not met.
