Seven injured as clash erupts at prohibited zone

Seven people have been injured when hit by rubber bullets in the prohibited zone in Janakpur on September 2. Local administration had imposed prohibited order from noon saying that the agitation organized demanding autonomous Madhes State was getting out of control. Among the injured, condition of three is said to be critical. Police fired five rounds of bullets and dozens of teargas shells at the farmers’ rally. The injured are identified as Bijay Sah, Suraj Sah, Manish Kumar Yadav, Amarnath Sah and Rishikesh Sah while 12 more are injured in the clas, Tarai Madhes Democratic Party’s district chairperson Parameshwar Sah said. CDO Kali Prasad Parajuli said that the prohititory order was imposed after the agitators led by Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha, Samyukta Madhesi Morcha, Baidya-led CPN-M and UCPN-M’s pro-Baburam cadres and the police at Bhanu Chok.
