Denizens of Bardiya on Wednesday breathed a huge sigh of relief following the resumption of public transportation in the district after the long haul of general strike imposed by the Madhesh-aligned parties. Concluding that the transportation business and daily bread owners were hit hard by the consecutive 44-day shutdown, the denizens defied today’s imposed strike and resumed the transportation facility. The district-based transport operators have also concluded that they supported the ongoing protest before the promulgation of Constitution, but now the business their support to prevent further loss by keeping the businesses in the district shut. The operators also decided to jointly go against the protesters if any of the vehicles are vandalized or torched for defying the strike.
