Protesting over the economic blockade imposed by India in Nepal, student-wings of major political parties staged a sit-in in front of India Embassy today. A meeting of various student unions held in the capital earlier today had decided to picket the embassy at 2 pm this afternoon. Students organizations affiliated to Nepal Student Union, All Nepal National Independent Student Union –Revolutionary participated in the protest demonstration. The demonstration started from ASCOL campus and proceeded towards the Indian embassy chanting various slogans. Although the protesters had planned to stage a sit-in before the Indian Embassy's gate the demonstration converged before Hotel Ambassador after they were stopped by the police there.
