A principal of a school has been remanded to custody by the Lamjung District Court for allegedly raping own minor student around one month ago.
The Principal and Founder Chairman of Risti Development English Boarding School at Sotipasal of Suryapal VDC-9 in Lamjung has been identified as Harikrishna Ojha (39), a resident of Kyamin VDC-6 in Tanahun.
He had raped the girl on August 31, police said.
A bench of District Judge Arjun Adhikari remanded him to custody, said Srestedar Hari Gyawali.
The case came into limelight after a medical examination, conducted while she was admitted at a Pokhara-based hospital, found that she was raped.
The minor was sent to the hospital when she was taken ill. During the treatment, four days after the rape, the doctors of Manipal Teaching Hospital found that she was raped.
The doctors then informed the Pokhara-based police office, which later informed Lamjung District Police about the incident, said Lamjung District Police inspector Rajendra Adhikari.
