Police investigation revealed that a woman whose body was found in a rivulet near her residence two weeks ago had been murdered for refusing a marriage proposal. According to police, Indra Bahadur Pun from Hugdishir-3 murdered 27-year-old Tara Shreesh of the same village after she refused his marriage proposal. During the police interrogation, Pun admitted to killing the local teacher before dumping her body into the rivulet. The victim, a divorcee, had been staying at Pun’s house on rent. The suspect was arrested from Phalebas in Parbat district by tracking his mobile phone, police said. He had absconded the village after the incident.
