The cadres of United Democratic Madhesi Front have set a copy of Taulihawa-based Sajha Newsweekly on October 6 for not publishing the news of the agitation on the front page. They accused the newspaper of not giving the agitation any importance. Newspaper editor Mani Gaire said that the act of setting the newspaper on fire for not getting front-page space had curtailed the press freedom. Nepal Press Union chairperson and newspaper manager Gopal Bhandari urged the government, agitating parties, and FNJ to ensure an environment conducive for freedom to write and publish news.
