Man arrested for selling petrol at Rs 500 liter

Police have arrested a man on the charge of selling petrol at a higher rate from Balkhu in the capital on Thursday. Raj Kumar Jaiswal hailing from Parsa and currently living in KMC-14, Kuleshwor was held for selling petrol at Rs 500 per litre, fivefold the current rate. Acting on a tip-off that Jaishwal is selling the fuel after bringing 200-litre petrol in-vehicle with bearing number plate Ba 10 Cha 9590, a police team from Metropolitan Police Circle, Kalimati arrested him. Police said they are further investigating the case. Of late, black marketing of petroleum products has surged in Kathmandu Valley following a shortage.
