Police shot three rounds of bullets in the air in a melee that ensued after people queuing up at a petrol station in Attariya Municipality in the district, to refill their vehicles, pelted stones at stationed vehicles randomly on Wednesday night. Superintendent of Police Rajendra Bista said that they had to open fires in the air to take under control the tense situation that flared up after some people, under the influence of alcohol, started pelting stones at the vehicles waiting to be refilled, complaining that they failed to get petrol. Meanwhile, police arrested three persons—Subash Bhatta, Suresh Buda and Gagan Giri—in connection with the incident.
