District Police Office arrested 35-year-old Ram Luha on October 25 on the charges of killing his 32-year-old wife Kamala Luhar of Tilakpur in Bhitdatta Municipality-3. Police arrested Ram after Kamala who was undergoing treatment for injuries sustained in Ram's beating succumbed to injuries in Khatiya, India on October 24. The family of Kamala accused that she was seriously injured after Ram beat her at a jungle near their home following a dispute. The victim, who was unconscious by the beating was taken to India for treatment. Brother of Kamala, Nanda Singh Sunar said that Ram used to beat her before also.  A post-mortem of the deceased was conducted at Mahakali Zonal Hospital on October 25. SP Kishor Kumar Dahal of the DPO said that Ram was arrested following a complaint filed by the relatives of the deceased.
