Bagmati, Kathmandu, Kathmandu

A local youth club in Thamel, Kathmandu, staged a sit-in in front of Indian Embassy in Lainchaur this morning against the unannounced border blockade by India. Youths in some 150 numbers, representing Gahiti Youth Club, gathered in front of the Embassy at 9:00 am and urged the body concerned to withdraw the blockade at the earliest, citing the hardships caused by it to the countrymen. The youths waving the national flag of Nepal urged the government of Nepal to maintain good ties with the Indian government for the earliest resolution. Jafar Hussein, President of the Club, said that the government of Nepal should take diplomatically to resolve the problem of border blockade. The members of the Club will stage sit-in for half an hour for the next six days to pile pressure on both governments to resolve the problem, shared President Hussein. The youths also underscored the need to maintain social harmony.
