The District Court sent a 34-year-old man to 18 years in jail on November 22, convicting him of raping a 12-year-old girl and an additional Rs50,000 fine as compensation to the relatives of the victim. The victim child state that his father raped her when her mother went abroad for work. The victim underwent a medical check-up in Baling. Police arrested the accused on May 7.
