Armed Police Force (APF) took 13 security personnel of Sima Surakshya Bal (SSB) under its control who had entered into Nepali territory illegally from Jhapa-Bihar border point, Kechana VDC of the district on early Sunday morning.
APF personnel who were deployed at Armed Police Border Account Post, Kechana, arrested them at around 6.30 this morning.
Chief District Officer, Tej Prasad Paudel, informed that an investigation has been launched on the illegal entry of SSB personnel into Nepali territory.
Among the arrestee, four SSB personnel had carried modern rifle.
Few days back, Nepali police had fired 13 rounds of bullet during a clash with smugglers in the area.
Smugglers were trying to smuggle 40 sacks of betel-nut towards India form the same border point.
Earlier on Wednesday morning, four Nepalis had been injured as SSB personnel entered illegally into Nepali territory and opened fire on Hirapur-7 of Sunsari district.
