Police beating leaves man with broken hand

Mangaldhoj Praja Chepang, 42, of Pida VDC-9, has been left with broken hands when beaten up by police after arrest on December 14. Police arrested Chepang on the charge of being involved in the beating. He was tied in a tree at Lipsnefedi of Pida VDC- 4 and was beaten up by police leaving him with broken hands, informed Pramod Rupakheti, former VDC Chairperson. According to the victim, police arrested him while he was working in an amusement park located at Pida VDC-4. He was then put in a motorbike and was stopped in the middle of the road on the way to police office where he was tied in a tree and was beaten. Police and local people have taken Chepang to Gajuri Hospital and plaster has been put in his hand after the x-ray. He sustained bruises in legs and face. Dasu Giri, Police Inspector of Gajuri refused to talk when contacted. Chepang was kept at Area Police Office, Gajuri whole night and was released on December 15 after signing the paper. Victim Chepang has appealed INSEC Dhading district representative to take initiative for the justice on December 15.
