One person died when cadres of Madhesi Morcha and police clashed at Gaur in Rautahat district on Sunday. The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Sheikh Tabarej of Tejpakad VDC. Tabarej was shot at his abdomen. His death has been confirmed by Dr. Krishna Sah of Gaur Hospital. Police fired several rounds of bullets in the air and shot tear gas shells to ward off the agitators after the latter hurled stones and glass bottles targeting the security personnel. The agitation erupted after the fire engine of the municipality was vandalized on Saturday and student forum leader Lalan Yadav was arrested. The United Democratic Madeshi Front(UDMF )has been protesting against the demarcation and the constitution for the past four months. The clash with the security personnel took place after the UDMF intensified the agitation calling the talks with the government a drama.
