An elderly woman of Puthlibang in Khawbang VDC-6 has been killed by a sharp weapon on January 1. Ruma Giri, 72, was killed while she was alone at her home and the motive behind the murder is not known, Jaalim Giri, son of the deceased's brother said. According to Jaalim, the incident took place while her son had gone to a relative, her daughter-in-law was out and her grandchildren were in school. Inspector Anjan Koirala of the District Police Office said that the police reached the site immediately after learning about the incident. Police said that the ornaments put on by the deceased were not taken away. Family of the deceased said that post-mortem of the deceased was conducted in District Hospital on January 2.
