Women take out plate and spoon rally against black marketeering

2016-01-10

Women Security Pressure Group Nepal has organised a protest rally by striking plates and spoons demanding the government control black marketeering and secure the human rights of its citizens at Maitighar Mandla in Kathmandu on Sunday. The group said that they organised the rally against the government for failing to curb black marketing and provide essentials like cooking gas, petrol, diesel among others to the people. The country has been facing the rant of shortages after the devastating April 25 earthquake followed by Madhesi Morcha agitation and India imposed embargo. During the protest, the group accused the businessmen, leaders and the administration for being in tune with the black marketers. The protestors displayed placards that read “Stop black marketing, inflation, scarcity.”
