A group of employees has enforced halt to all services except emergency and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) from Tuesday. Employees resorted to closure after police intervened in a sit-in. Patients visiting for treatment have been forced to return following shut down of Outdoor Patients Department (OPD) service. A brief scuffle occurred between police and staffers after the law enforcement agency tried to admit employee Kiran Bhattarai to ICU. Bhattarai has been staging indefinite hunger strike since a week putting forth five-point demands.
