(updated) Two unidentified persons attacked a woman with acid at Ghorahi, Dang on Thursday night. The victim, Rita Chaudhary,32, was at her general store at Gulariya, Ghorahi municipality-2 when two unidentified assailants attacked her with acid, informed District Police Office. Chaudhary has sustained chemical burns to the left side of her face and neck. Chaudhary has been taken to Kohalpur-based Teaching hospital after receiving primary treatment at Ghorahi-based Rapti Sub-regional Hospital. District Police Chief SP Kuber Kathyat said that the assailants are yet to be identified and a search is underway to nab the perpetrators.

Update........... Dang police arrested two persons on Saturday in suspicion of throwing acid at a woman. Two masked persons on a motorcycle had thrown acid at Rita Chaudhary of Ghorahi-2 while the latter was sitting at her shop on Thursday evening. Chaudhary underwent surgery on her cheeks and neck at Medical College Nepalgunj on Saturday. Her father said she may require further surgery to recover from the attack. Police are investigating the case and said the attack might have been carried out in revenge for a dispute over land.
