Jayabir Bote, 37, of Kalika metropolis-11 has been sentenced to four years in prison and slapped a fine of 1 lakh by the District Court. The bench of District judge Tek Narayan Kunwar handed down the decision on March 23. According to the court’s spokesperson Krishna Prasad Baral, the case was decided 28 days after it was registered. The perpetrator went to the victim’s house in the absence of her parents and attempted to rape her. The victim reported the incident at the local police station on February 3 and the case was registered the next day. The victim underwent a medical examination at Bharatpur Hospital on February 5. Bote was arrested by the police on February 3.
