The District Court of Surkhet sentenced a person to 20 years and 6 months in jail on the charges of raping two minor girls aged 6 and 7 years old. A single bench of District Court justice Kailash Prashad Subedi issued the verdict on 29-year-old Bir Bahadur Tamata(Sunar) from Bheriganga-9 Harre, for raping the minor girls from Bheriganga municipality. The court also decided to impose a fine of rupees one lakh to the accused. Tamata was arrested on August 9 by the police on the charges of raping the two girls while being drunk on August 6.
