Medical service disrupted in Lumbini Zonal hospital due to agitation

Medical services at Lumbini Zonal Hospital have been disrupted after employees of the Lumbini Zonal Hospital Development Committee resorted to demonstration putting forward 6 point demands. The employees have started agitation from the past three days chanting slogans before the hospital premises. 

The work of Lumbini Zonal Hospital Development Committee has been affected after the employees started agitation. The agitation has been going on in the hospital for the past three days under the leadership of the employees' union. Protesters chanted slogans in front of the sensitive area hospital. In the movement, they have demanded that the employees who have become permanent by doing temporary service for years since 1986 their 75 percent of service period should be calculated in the temporary service, the development committee staff should be upgraded and promoted, and the contract staff should be made permanent through internal competition. Similarly, as the Hospital Development Committee has created various posts and made the hospital a recruitment center, it should be closed immediately and the income and expenditure of the hospital should be made public through a white paper. They demanded that the Lumbini Zonal Hospital be upgraded as a medical college and the services provided by the central hospital be made smooth. Bhagirath Rana, chairman of the Lumbini Zonal Hospital Development Committee Employees' Union, warned that the office of the chairman and Mesu would be locked if their six-point demand was not met. Ram Bahadur PS, the coordinator of the movement, said that they were forced to agitate as the hospital development committee and the hospital administration did not show interest in their demands. He will work with a black belt from April 24-30. He informed that there are programs such as holding sit-ins in the administration. However, he warned that the union would take a tough decision if no hearing was held.
