The United Temporary Teachers Central Struggle Committee has been staging hunger strike since the past three days in the Capital. They are on fast-onto-death demanding their permanency through normal process. It is stated that over 30 thousand teachers from across the country are working on a temporary basis and have announced protest, demanding to scrap the discriminatory vacancy announcements. Kishun Prasad Yadav and Sulekha Devi Kayastha from Parsa, Jit Bahadur Gurung of Gorkha, Kamalawati Joshi from Bajhang and Kalu KC from Bajura have been staging the strike at Bhadrakali, Kathmandu. One of the participants, Shanti Shahi from Jumla has said that the State has adopted discriminatory policy regarding the temporary teachers. They had been teaching for 25 years on the temporary basis but the government was ignoring to address their demands. The temporary teachers objected to the recent vacancy announcement by the Teachers Service Commission without having special provision to address their demands. संयुक्त अस्थायी शिक्षक केन्द्रीय सङ्घर्ष समितिले सामान्य प्रक्रियाबाट स्थायी गर्नुपर्ने माग गर्दै विगत तीन दिनदेखि आमरण अनशन थालेको छ । देशभरका ३० हजारभन्दा बढी अस्थायी शिक्षकले विभेदकारी विज्ञापन खारेज गरी अहिले कार्यरत आफ्नो कोटामा आफैँले परीक्षा दिन पाउने गरी विज्ञापन खुलाउनुपर्ने माग राख्दै शुक्रबारदेखि आमरण अनशन सुरु गरेका हुन् । आमरण अनशन बस्ने अस्थायी शिक्षकमा पर्साका किसुनप्रसाद यादव, गोरखाका जितबहादुर गुरुङ, बझाङकी कमलावती जोशी, पर्साकी सुलेखादेवी कायस्थ र बाजुराकी कलु केसी रहेका छन् । जुम्लाबाट काठमाडौँ आई आन्दोलनमा सहभागी भएकी शान्ति शाही राज्यले अस्थायी शिक्षकलाई विभेद गरेको बताइन् । ‘२०÷२५ वर्षदेखि अस्थायीरुपमा पढाउँदै आएका शिक्षकलाई राज्यले अहिले आएर अयोग्य भन्न मिल्छ र ? अयोग्य भए हामीलाई किन अध्यापन अनुमतिपत्र दियो ? जुम्लाको रुपकोट निमाविमा विगत १३ वर्षदेखि अध्यापन गर्दै आएकी शाहीले भनिन । बाजुराबाट काठमाडौँ आई अनशन थाएकी कलु केसीले अस्थायी शिक्षकको मागप्रति राज्य गम्भीर नभएको आरोप लगाए। ‘अस्थायी शिक्षकलाई असक्षम भनेर माला लगाउन खोजिँदैछ, यो सरासर अन्याय हो,’ उनले भने । उनले अहिले जारी गरिएको शिक्षक सेवाको विज्ञापन रद्द गर्नुपर्ने माग गरे । माग पूरा नभएसम्म आन्दोलन जारी राख्ने संयुक्त अस्थायी शिक्षक केन्द्रीय सङ्घर्ष समितिले जनाएको छ । रासस
