Locals of Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur shut down the town demanding to take action against the murderer of 13 years old Nirlama Pant who had previously been murdered after rape. The schools , transportation and shops of town remained closed due to the strike. Locals and family members of Nirmala are angered accusing the local administration and government had not investigate on the incident seriously as it had been already 13 days of the incident. बलात्कार पछि हत्या गरिएकी १३ बर्षीय निर्मला पन्तको हत्यारालाई कारबाहीको माग गर्दै स्थानीयले महेन्द्रनगर बजार बन्द गरेका छन् । स्थानीयको आन्दोलनलाई समर्थन गर्दै बजारका ब्यापारी र शिक्षालयले पनि सम्पूर्ण व्यवसाय र पठनपाठन बन्द गरेका हुन् । आन्दोलनमा उत्रिएका महिला अधिकारकर्मी लगायत स्थानीयले यातायात सेवा समेत अवरुद्ध पारेका छन् । स्थानीयले निर्मलाको बलात्कार पछि हत्या भएको १३ दिन भइसक्दा पनि हत्यारा पक्राउ गर्न नसकेको भन्दै प्रहरी प्रशासनको चर्को आलोचना गरेका छन् ।
