Sudurpashchim, Kailali, Dhangadhi
Local people have staged a protest in Dhangadhi today demanding justice for Nirmala Panta, who was brutally raped and murdered in Bhimdutta Municipality-2 in Kanchanpur district on July 26.
Protesters including women activists blindfolded themselves and laid on the street in front of the District Administration Office (DAO) seeking justice for 13-year-old Panta.
Earlier, the Citizens Struggle Committee had announced a five-day protest in the district. Sharda Chand Thakuri, member of the Committee said, “We will hold a stern protest in the coming days in order to provide justice to Nirmala Panta.”
Although people across the nation have been staging protests demanding justice for the victim, the government has so far failed to parade the culprit(s).
