The locals blocked the Gorkha-Abukhaireni road section for two consecutive days demanding the immediate investigation of the murder of Shyamhari Ghimire, the staff at Manakamana Deaf School. In addition to blocking the road, the locals also padlocked the school and picketed the district administrative office on 16th August.
Ghimire, who had left for his home from school at 9 pm on August 12, was found dead in a jungle. Ghimire's family suspect that Ghimire was killed in fear that Ghimire would bring out irregularities and violence inside the institutions to the public.
