Local youths of In Thakurbaba Municipality-8 of Bardiya, have padlocked the ward office after receiving complaints that the local representatives and employees misappropriated money from the Housing for Poor fund.
They demanded that the local representatives and employees who have taken the money should either resign or return the money immediately.
According to Ratna Bahadur Ale, a ward member, the padlock was opened after a meeting held on Wednesday evening where an agreement was made to investigate the matter and to return the money taken by the local representatives and employees.
