Black-marketing of Urea fertilizer in Rautahat

Black-marketing of fertilizer has become rampant in Rautahat in recent days. The black-marketing started as fertilizer was not available until the last week of May because of lockdown.

Fertilizer is not readily available as most of the markets in the district are closed. Binod Sapkota, a farmer of Chandrapur Municipality, said that urea fertilizer was not available as per the demand of the farmers but some traders are secretly black-marketing it. Sapkota complained that even the local level is not interested in providing the fertilizer.

Chief District Officer of Rautahat, Basudev Ghimire, has warned to take strict action against those found involved in black marketing of fertilizer and daily necessities.
