The tea farmers in Suryaodaya Municipality of Illam have started protests as the tea industries dropped the price of green tea without consideration to the requirements made by the local level. The tea farmers in ward number 8, 10 and 11 formed a struggle committee demanding long-term solution to the recurring problem of tea price. They also demand the opening up of open the domestic and Indian markets. The tea farmers in Suryadoya Municipality had protested a few days back as well.
