The locals of Butwal Sub-metropolitan have protested against the extraction and sale of riverine products by the Sub-metropolitan Office under the pretext of cleaning the river embankment. The Butwal Sub-Metropolitan Municipality has been extracting riverine products from the Tinau river and selling it putting human settlement in danger.
The sub-metropolitan government has stated that the riverine products are auctioned as per the plan to make the settlement safer and use it as a source of income instead of dumping it in the river.
