Province 1, Morang, Biratnagar
Farmers who have come to Biratnagar to collect manure are agitating as they have not been able to get the fertilizer. They blocked the road near Bhatbhateni Super Market in Biratnagar on the Koshi Highway on Wednesday complaining that they have not received fertilizer even after waiting for several days.
In Biratnagar, along with the problem of not getting fertilizer, farmers are also at risk of the corona. Ram Chandra Pal, who came from Lakhantari in Morang to collect manure, said that he had to join the agitation after the distributors who had promised to distribute manure became contactless.
Like him, other farmers in Morang and Sunsari were also called by the distributor to provide fertilizer.
Radheshyam Chaudhary, head of Salt Dreading Biratnagar, said that the prohibitory order and lockdown due to the coronavirus epidemic were causing problems in the import of manure.
