The office of the Dhanuji Rural Municipality, Dhanusha has been padlocked on Thursday. The rural municipality office and the office of the chief administrative officer was padlocked by a group of dozen local representatives led Deputy-Chairman Ramwati Devi Mandal.
The protesting local representatives said they padlocked the office as former Chief Administrative Officer Shambhu Thakur was transferred without making public the expenditure related to Covid-19 pandemic and introducing budget for next fiscal year. They protested against the transfer of officials on short tenure in the rural municipality. The agitated local representatives also accused that four officials have been transferred in the rural municipality in a span of three years and that the outdone Chief Administrative Officer Shambhu Thakur have been transferred without bringing the budget.
