Dr Govinda KC who was brought to Kathmandu earlier on Tuesday has been forcibly taken to the National Turma Center. Dr KC, a senior orthopedic surgeon, who has been staging a hunger strike for the 19th time demanding reforms in the medical sector, was brought to Kathmandu through a flight at 11:45 AM.
However, he was taken to the National Trauma Center as soon as he landed at the airport.
“Although he is willing to go to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, police officials forcibly took him to the Trauma Center,” said Pritam Subedi, Dr KC’s aide.
Subedi informed Republica that although he has been taken to the Trauma center, Dr KC will not be receiving any treatment there. “He is adamant on his decision. He will not allow his checkup or receive any treatment at the Trauma Center,” Subedi told Republica.
On Saturday evening, Dr KC had been admitted to the ICU of the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS) after he developed severe health complications. He was ‘forcefully’ taken to the hospital by government authorities on the eighth day of his hunger strike.
