27-year-old Aarti Sah of Baisakha in Sukhipur Municipality-9, who was taken to Divine Health Care Hospital in Lahan on November 21 for delivery, died. Since then, her relatives staged a protest and vandalized the hospital, blaming the doctor of the negligence.
They further accused that the hospital operator, staff, and doctors went missing after the incident. Her husband demanded action against the negligent doctor. The aggrieved locals also blocked traffic at the Hospital Chowk section of Lahan on the East-West Highway from 8 to 10 am on November 21. The local administration deployed security personnel in front of the hospital. Fortunately, the newborn is safe and taken to Saptarishi Hospital from there.
