Health workers of Bheri hospital, Nepalgunj, staged a silent demonstration demanding non-bailable custody to the accused who attacked doctors and nurses on May 27. They demanded strict punishment for the criminal activities through an ordinance.

The law recently issued by the government has a provision of ‘jail without bill’ or "Non-bailable custody". According to the Laxmi KC, chairperson of Nepal Nursing Federation, Banke, a week-long silent demonstration has started for pressuring the government for bringing a new law through an ordinance to implement the same provision. Health workers of the hospital will wear black bandages for one hour every day from 5 to 6 pm and for demanding the safety of doctors.
