A minor died of snakebite in Simraungadh, Bara district on September 13. The minor was sent to Simraungadh Municipal Hospital for treatment but died while undergoing treatment. Following the minor's death, his relatives took his body and protested against the municipality's mayor, Bijay Shankar Yadav.
Sumed Gupta, the deceased's father, claimed that his son died as a result of doctors' carelessness and delayed treatment. Gupta claimed that his little kid died on the route to Kalaiya Hospital after the hospital's doctors referred him there saying snake bites were not treated there and there was no ambulance. Mayor Yadav, however, claimed that some people staged a protest against the municipality and himself to seek political revenge.
