Students, who completed MBBS from china, staged a demonstration at Maitighar on September 14, demanding an internship. The protestors claimed that even though their course finished 18 months ago, Nepal Medical Council and Medical Education Commission were indifferent to them.
As stated in point 3 of the Nepal Medical Council's Internship Rules, if there is a special or compelling reason for students who studied abroad to do an internship in Nepal, the student can do so only with the prior approval of the institution where he or she is studying, and such internship must be done in accordance with the Nepal Medical Council's Internship Rules. The pupils, on the other hand, claim that they are concerned because the provision is not made clear.
