A clash broke out between police and locals at Rapti Municipality-9 in East Chitwan after the team of the Area Police Office Bhandara reached the incident site to arrest a murder accused. 50-year-old Dasrath Thakuri is accused of murdering his 59-year-old neighbour Kanchaa Lama of  Rapti municipality-9, Shital Chowk. According to Police, Thakuri killed Lama by hitting him with an iron rod on the head, when two got into a dispute while having dinner together on the evening of September 17.

Locals pelted stones at the police at the incident site when police tried to recover the dead body and arrest the accused. Police had to fire in the air to control the locals. & including 5 from the police's side and 2 from the local's side were injured in the clash.

Police Inspector Shyam Basnet of District Police Office Chitwan and Inspector Roshan Khadka of Area Police Office Ratnanagar were injured in the clash. Similarly, police constable Anil BK, police constable Nikesh Praja and police constable Tekendra Rana were also injured in the incident. Among the locals injured are  Sushma Pun and Kushal Pun. Injured police inspector Khadka has sustained serious injuries in his eye and BK has broken his tooth. The injured are currently undergoing treatment at Chitwan Medical College, police said.
