A clash has broken out between students and police in Dhankaul rural municipality of Sarlahi district. One policeman and two students were injured in the clash. Students of Shree Janata secondary school in Harkathwa in Dhankaul rural municipality Ward No. 5 were agitated saying that there is a shortage of teachers due to irregular distribution of bicycles in the school and non-formation of the management committee. The clash broke out between the police and the students while the agitated students padlocked the school and picketed the rural municipal office. During the clash, after police assaulted Rupa Yadav, a student of class 7 and Subash Yadav, a student of class 8, agitating students pelted stones at the police.
Police Constable Rajesh Singh of Harkathawa Post was injured in the incident. According to Mukesh Yadav, a local of Dhankaul village, the post of management committee has been vacant for the last two years and the students became agitated as the rural municipality did not approve the election of Bindeshwar Raut as the chairman of the management committee.
