Students of Devanandan Devraj Namuna Secondary School in Bahudarmai Municipality Ward No. 8 Ramnagari of Parsa padlocked the school since November 19 morning. The students locked the school principal Manoj Kumar Srivastava, ward chairman of ward no. 8 Punilal Sah and school management committee member Rajendra Pandit in the same office.
The students allege that there is no subject teacher in comparision to the number of students. The school offers classes up to class 12. They complained that they lack quality education as there are only 7 teachers in the school which has 840 students.
Srivastava, the principal of the school, said that the municipality had not provided assistance in filling the vacancies of teachers. Although he repeatedly informed the municipality about the problem of the school, Mayor Nitendra Sah and Chief Administrative Officer Bidur Prasad Upreti did not show any interest in the situation, Srivastava alleged.
