The vice-chairperson of Tilathi Koladi rural municipality in Saptari, Suchita Kumari Yadav padlocked the office of chief administrative officer alleging that information and decision about developmental activities, carried out through the municipal administration, is not provided to elected representatives including herself. She has also been staging a sit-in on the premises of the rural municipality office.
The vice-chair had filed a complaint for the right to information demanding the information about the decisions of the revenue consultation group for the fiscal year 2021-22; decisions of resource estimation, and budgeting committee; letters about budget ceiling sent to ward from the rural municipality; and decisions of village assembly for the fiscal year 2021-22.
The vice-chairperson condemned the chairperson and chief administrative officer for not addressing the right to information and ignoring her demands. She said that the sit-in and padlocking will continue until the demands are met.
