Two armed police personnel, four Nepal Police, and six Nepal Electricity employees were attacked by locals of Baudhimai municipality-6, on July 25, while trying to prevent electricity theft in Rautahat. According to Sandip Das, chairperson of Moulapur Distribution Centre of NEA (Nepal Electricity Authority), locals pelted stones at the police and workers and vandalized the vehicle of electricity authority. He further added that 25 motors used to steal electricity were collected by the police.
After getting the information about electricity theft due through hooking, the team reached Piparia village via Azgaibi, Boudha Patura. After the information about the increase in power leakage, Das, the head of the authority, Moulapur, had appointed a leakage control team, saying that he would take action against people involved in electricity theft.
