Police post vandalised over allegation of tarpaulin distribution to businessman

. Irate locals of Thali have pelted stones at Thali police station accusing the police of handing over tarpaulins meant for relief material to a businessman who sold it at a hefty sum. Police arrested local businessman Ganesh Jaiswal after locals accused him of black marketeering and tried to man-handle him. When interrogated by angry locals the businessman confessed that he had obtained the tarpaulins from police. The locals accused Thali police incharge sub-inspector Madhu Aryal of allowing the businessman to sell the tarpaulins. When Boudha police was transporting the arrested businessman angry locals pelted stone at the police vehicle. DSP Narahari Regmi of Boudha Police however denied the allegiations. Sub-inspector Madhu Aryal was transferred from Thali police station on Wednesday.
