Students agitated by the knocking down of their classmate by a micro-bus in front of their campus gate this morning set the micro-bus on fire and beat up the driver before police intervened. The incident took place in front of Tri-Chandra Campus at Ghantaghar in the capital when Namgyal Sherpa, a B.Sc. first-year student, was coming out of the college. He was hit by the micro-bus just at the gate of his college. A permanent resident of Okhaldhunga, Sherpa later succumbed to his injuries at the Model Hospital in Bagbazaar, according to police. The incident also led to a clash between the agitated students and police. Several students have been reported injured in the process.
